Objective: By the end of the course, participants will be able to set up accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn, eBay, and YouTube, as well as manage basic selling and uploading activities on each platform.


Hour 1: Introduction to Social Media and eCommerce Platforms
  • Objective: Provide a brief overview of the course content, set expectations, and introduce participants to the concept of social media for business and eCommerce.
  • 15 min – Introduction to the course and the value of social media and eCommerce.
  • 20 min – Overview of each platform (Facebook, LinkedIn, eBay, YouTube): features, purposes, and types of users.
  • 25 min – General account security best practices and common mistakes to avoid.

Hour 2: Facebook Essentials
  • Objective: Guide participants through setting up a Facebook account, creating a business page, and an introduction to Facebook Marketplace.
  • 30 min – Setting up a Facebook account, navigating the homepage, privacy settings, and account security.
  • 20 min – Creating and setting up a Facebook Business Page: adding a profile and cover photo, setting up business details, and enabling messaging.
  • 25 min – Introduction to Facebook Marketplace and setting up a product listing: choosing categories, adding product images, descriptions, and pricing.

Hour 3: Selling on Facebook
  • Objective: Learn how to manage listings, use Facebook for Business, and run basic promotions.
  • 30 min – Managing Facebook Marketplace listings: editing, updating, and removing listings.
  • 20 min – Introduction to Facebook Business tools: basics of Ads Manager, creating simple ad campaigns, and boosting posts.
  • 25 min – Understanding engagement tools: responding to customer inquiries, analyzing Marketplace insights, and tips for effective selling on Facebook.

Hour 4: LinkedIn Account Setup and Optimization
  • Objective: Participants will set up a LinkedIn account, build a professional profile, and understand how to optimize it for personal branding.
  • 20 min – Setting up a LinkedIn account, choosing a professional profile photo, and navigating the homepage.
  • 30 min – Completing profile sections: headline, about section, experience, skills, and endorsements.
  • 25 min – Adding connections, exploring LinkedIn groups, and an introduction to posting and engagement on LinkedIn.

Hour 5: eBay for Beginners
  • Objective: Set up an eBay account and learn how to create product listings.
  • 20 min – Creating an eBay account, profile setup, and account settings.
  • 30 min – Product listing basics: choosing categories, writing effective descriptions, uploading quality images, and pricing strategies.
  • 25 min – Managing listings: monitoring inventory, responding to customer questions, and understanding eBay’s seller policies and guidelines.

Hour 6: YouTube Setup and Content Uploading
  • Objective: Set up a YouTube account, explore the platform's features, and learn how to upload videos.
  • 20 min – Setting up a YouTube account, channel creation, and customizing the channel profile and banner.
  • 30 min – Video uploading process: editing basics, adding titles, descriptions, tags, and custom thumbnails.
  • 25 min – YouTube Studio overview: monitoring video performance, responding to comments, and managing the YouTube channel.

Hour 7: Course Wrap-Up and Q&A
  • Objective: Summarize key takeaways, answer participant questions, and provide additional resources for continued learning.
  • 30 min – Recap of each platform: Facebook, LinkedIn, eBay, YouTube.
  • 20 min – Q&A session for participants to ask specific questions and clarify doubts.
  • 10 min – Additional resources and next steps for participants to further develop their skills.
